Case Study: Architectural Element Advocacy Cost Savings
At IDG we know all too well the importance of Franchisee Advocacy for Retail Design Initiatives.
Volvo Franchise VRE Design Guidelines in keeping with the overall Scandinavian Design Aesthetics was originally requiring this dealer to install a very high-end Luxury Wood Entry Door Surround custom made by an exterior signage company (note the architectural rendering below) totaling a sum of almost $100K. At IDG we have a motto that it never hurts to ask so we graciously submitted a variance request to the Franchise design team for Volvo that included a suggestions to wrap the interior of the existing exterior glass storefront walls with the same wood in order to keep with the aesthetics Volvo extended (see in the photo below).
After much negotiations and deliberation they approved our request. The dealer was extremely pleased with the cost savings and the thoughtful touch to the interior aesthetics. Typically the cost and time saving measures we advise, negotiate and deliver to our clients cover most if not all of IDG’s fee schedule.
